Good news for Utah transit
Good news for public transit in Utah, from UTA:
On Saturday, Sept. 5, TRAX recorded more than 86,500 boardings, a 141 percent increase over average Saturday ridership. FrontRunner ridership was 129 percent above average, with more than 15,000 recorded boardings. On Friday, TRAX and FrontRunner boardings were up 54 percent and 40 percent, respectively.
The increases happened as a result of an array of activities happening in Salt Lake City and elsewhere. This goes to show that if diverse destinations are connected by good transit, people will actually use that transit to get around.
